In 1960s, there was only one artificial teeth maker located in Shanghai across China, which couldn't meet the entire Chinese market demand. Since China was still in the period of planned economy at that time, the central government decided to establish the second teeth producer in North China, and finally chose Huaxian Odontopathy Prevention Station in Henan Province. Huaxian Tooth Factory of Odontopathy Prevention Station was then set up after three years technical studies, personnel training and plant construction, i.e. the predecessor of Yuwei Dental.

Since China's reform and opening-up initiative in 1978 to transform planned economy to market economy, Huaxian Tooth Factory of Odontopathy Prevention Station has started to access the international marketplace to exchange technologies and techniques with its counterparties from Japan, Europe and America. We launched the first batch of two-layer polymer teeth in China.

In 1986, China promulgated its national standard upon synthetic resin teeth numbered 8265-87. Two senior engineers DONG Hui and LI Aimin from the factory participated in the discussion and development of the first national standard of this kind, which now serves as the threshold to polymer teeth makers in China. We have also been one of the first dental manufacturers granted the dental production license.
In 1990, the factory was relocated to a new plant covering an area of 8,000 sqm, one of the largest artificial teeth production facilities in China. In 2000, we refurbished the plant with more state-of-the-art equipment, plus the dust-free installation in workshops.
In 1998, we sucessfully developed three-layer polymer teeth, and in 2003 four-layer teeth. In 2010, we were the first Chinese dental producer successfully launching the five-layer teeth with super high strength and wear resistance. Our four-layer teeth are currently the preferred choice among overseas OEM orders exported to over 30 countries and regions.
In 2013, we started to promote our new brand -- Yuwei Dental, our proprietary product line dedicated to export markets . Based on our international certifications such as ISO9001, ISO13485, CE, FDA, etc., we have improved our unique formula and processes for seven export types, i.e. MERCURY, VENUS, MARS, JUPITER, SATURN, URANUS and NEPTUNE.
In 2014, Yuwei Dental established its Shanghai brand solely responsible for export business, meanwhile its new production facilities covering over 25,000 sqm is under construction. It's expected that Yuwei Dental will move to a completely new world-class modern plant at the beginning of 2015 with daily capacity up to 200,000 teeth.
